Our company has a very strong focus on the environment. Right now we are in the process of planning and building a large biofuel-fired power plant in Örtofta, just south of Eslöv. When finished, the power plant will reduce carbon dioxide emissions with 350 000 tons every year on a global basis. The plant will produce heat that we will use in our district heating system that interconnects Lund and Eslöv. It will also produce electricity equal to the city of Eslövs consumption.
We are also working towards being climate neutral which means that we are taking an inside out perspective, working with everything from choosing the best possible way of travel, not having personal laser printers in our offices, replacing our many vehicles with more enviromentally friendly models and much else.
We have completed the first step - mapping out what causes emissions and calculating the levels of our emissions. We are now in step 2 - taking action to reduce our emissions - practising what we learned in step 1.
Environmentally certified
Lunds Energikoncernen has been certified according to ISO 14 001 since 1998. In 2007 the certification was renewed for three more years.
